Bejo Zaden

Bejo is a company focusing entirely on the breeding, production, processing and sale of vegetable seeds for professional outdoor cultivation. Bejo was established in 1978 through the merger of two family businesses, Beemsterboer (1912) and Jacob Jong (1899). Over the years the company has acquired an international reputation for the production of hybrid vegetable varieties and established 15 Bejo companies outside the Netherlands. Bejo currently has approximately 500 employees who do their utmost to reflect the message of our slogan: "Bejo, a name that stands for quality”.

  1. Research:
This is carried out in Holland, Italy, India and Poland, in our own laboratories, glasshouses and on our trial grounds. Outside Holland new crosses and varieties are trailed in several climatic zones. In India we are especially breeding for tropical conditions.

  2. Seed production and processing
To control the quality of the seed production, Bejo grows mostly under its own management and with professional seed growers. Bejo seeds are produced predominantly in France (at Bejo Production), but also for example in Italy, the United States and Australia. All the seed is then transported to the Netherlands for quality control, processing, packaging and storage.

  3. Sales and administration
The sales and administration are co-ordinated by our head office in Warmenhuizen. Bejo seed is sold world-wide by 16 Bejo companies. In Africa Bejo works with sole distributors. Bejo seed finds its way to more than 100 countries.

  4. Product range
