Hold a valid Business License and Tax Identification Number (TIN).
Be registered with the relevant trade/seed authority and (if applicable) listed as a seed exporter.
Enroll with the Ethiopian Customs Commission (and electronic single-window where applicable).
Agree on quantity, variety, grade, price, Incoterms, delivery schedule and payment method (LC, TT, etc.).
Submit export permit application to the Ministry of Agriculture / Seed Authority.
Include crop details, variety, quantity, destination, and contract copy.
Pay applicable fees and obtain Export Permit approval.
Apply to the NPPO (National Plant Protection Organization).
Provide export permit, invoice, contract, and shipment details.
NPPO inspects the seed lot and issues Phytosanitary Certificate if compliant.
Lodge export declaration with the Ethiopian Customs Commission.
Attach invoice, packing list, contract, export permit, and phytosanitary certificate.
Customs verifies documents and may inspect shipment.
Arrange freight booking (air/sea/land).
Provide Bill of Lading / Air Waybill.
Ensure labels meet destination country requirements.
Obtain clearance from Customs.
Shipment released to carrier for export.
Buyer receives documents: Invoice, Packing List, Phytosanitary Certificate, Bill of Lading.
